The Lemieux Laboratory being a bioinformatics laboratory focusing on the development of tools, we ask our students to have joint training in biology as well as computer science.
Our team members must have completed at least one university-level programming course or demonstrate robust programming skills and abilities in at least one programming language.
We mainly recruit students who have completed a dual education (biosciences and computer science), for example a B.Sc. in bioinformatics or a double major. However, we also consider candidates with specialized training in a relevant field (biochemistry, chemistry, biology) and who have developed advanced skills in the complementary discipline independently, or through external training. In all cases, good programming skills are required.
The Lemieux Laboratory supervises graduate students registered in the bioinformatics (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and computer science (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) graduate programs of the University of Montreal.
In order to fully consider an application to join the Laboratory, we ask to receive:
All documents must be sent by email to s.lemieux@umontreal.ca (CC: caroline.labelle@umontreal.ca). Successful applications will be contacted within one month of their application for an interview.
