Before starting her baccalaureate studies, Assya Trofimov completed an internship at IRIC with [Dr Claude Perreault](https://www.iric.ca/fr/recherche/chercheurs-principaux/claude -perreault), during which she studied the adaptive immune system. After graduating, she chose to pursue a master’s degree in bioinformatics, followed by a [doctorate in computer science](https://admission.umontreal.ca/fr/programs/phd-in-computer- science/), co-directed by Drs Claude Perreault and Sébastien Lemieux.
Assya obtained his Master’s degree in July 2018 under the supervision of Sébastien Lemieux. His dissertation focused on the study of gene signatures in the context of RNA-Seq experiments. Alexandre’s dissertation is accessible via the platform Papyrus de l’UdeM.
Assya obtained his Doctorate degree in October 2022. His thesis focused on the learning of cellular atlases using the Factorized embeddings method. Assya’s thesis is accessible via the [Papyrus de l’UdeM] platform (https://papyrus.bib.umontreal.ca/xmlui/handle/1866/27477).
